Introduction | Requirement

The California Department of Social Services (CDSS), in partnership with WestEd, is delighted to announce the launch of a two-hour online professional development module designed for early learning and care professionals in all roles and all settings. Please spread the word and share this information with your colleagues. This introductory module, offered in multiple languages, includes engaging, interactive online learning experiences that present current and practical content to support effective trauma informed practices. The module includes purposeful activities, tools for reflection, and resources that extend the learning experience. In addition, a 30-minute module for facilitators will be available to support professionals using the 2-hour modules to guide others’ professional learning. The modules will launch in two phases and be available on California Early Childhood Online (CECO).

As part of California’s Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative, the Office of the California Surgeon General (CA-OSG) is offering a free, online professional learning module designed to help early care and education personnel respond to trauma and stress in children. The content included in this toolkit can be used to help CA-OSG promote the training.
